A LIFE IN WORDS
About the author
Chi Jade Tran (b. 1994) was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
She began writing at an early age. In 2013, several of her hyperrealist short stories were published in a collaborative anthology alongside other Vietnamese authors. In 2017, she worked with a respected Vietnamese publishing house to release her debut anthology, “Tọa độ của nỗi cô đơn” (The Coordinates of Solitude), published as a limited edition of 100 copies.
Since December 2018, she has been living in Spain, where she has continued writing while studying and working across different fields. Her work explores solitude, travel, memory, language, belonging, and the inner landscapes of contemporary life.
Her autobiographical memoir, “Ba’s Diary” (2025), takes readers back to her childhood and upbringing, offering an intimate portrait of the experiences that shaped both her life and her voice as a writer.
She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences (Biology) at The Open University. Her academic interests in biology, neuroscience, and human behavior frequently inform her writing, bringing a scientific perspective to her reflections on emotion, memory, and the forces that shape human experience.
